The City of Eagle Lake is seeking a motivated and organized individual to fill the full-time position of Administrative Assistant to our Code Enforcement Office. This employee will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Code Enforcement Office while helping to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This position is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for the code enforcement/building division counter, and responding to inquiries over the telephone, in person, and via e-mail for the department. This position also serves as back-up for the Permit Technician.
Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work on several tasks simultaneously, pay attention to detail, and have excellent recordkeeping skills. Candidate must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Prior permitting experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must have successfully graduated from a standard high-school or trade-school or possess an acceptable GED certificate; supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years of office and/or administrative support experience.
Must be able to successfully pass a physical, background, and drug screen.
